Cotton Incorporated, a global not-for-profit, funded by cotton producers & importers, is the research and marketing arm for upland cotton. Cotton’s cutting-edge research across the entire value chain empowers industry professionals to craft premium cotton products, driving Cotton’s mission to enhance cotton demand & profitability.
One of the most recent research endeavors that debuted at the Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing (ECRM) event is Cotton Incorporated’s 2024 100% Cotton Nonwoven Baby Care Trials. Cotton’s exhibit at The Baby & Infant Session, which facilitates meetings between brands and buyers in retail, cultivated powerful cotton connections with over 20 retail buyers July 15-17, 2024 in Indian Wells, California at the Renaissance Esmeralda Resort & Spa.
Natural fibers in diaper and wipe manufacturing – along with the growth of brands dedicated to sustainability and ingredient transparency – indicate an industry shift away from plastic and toward biodegradability. While a completely plastic-free disposable diaper has not been actualized, there are emerging brands integrating more natural fibers into their products in an effort to help reduce macroplastic and microplastic pollution, and Cotton can help brands interested in this endeavor.
Cotton Incorporated’s display at this event (room #4109) included nonwoven substrates from their baby care trial including topsheets, backsheets, and wipes. The nonwovens marketing team converted a 100% cotton premium baby wipe as an end-to-end example to illustrate the full farm to family journey including packaging design and a retail display highlighting the power of the Seal. National brands leveraging the Seal of Cotton trademark were also on display for retailers to view for illustrative purposes.
