Blue Jeans Go Green™
Give Old Denim a New Purpose
When you recycle denim through Cotton’s Blue Jeans Go Green™ program, you can feel good knowing that your old denim can be transformed into something new. Since 2006, we’ve created insulating material1 for various uses, from building materials to sustainable packaging for meal service deliveries. Not to brag, but we’re proud that we’ve been able to keep over 4.2 million pieces of old denim out of landfills. How many pieces are hanging around in your closet?
Doing Good for the Planet
The Blue Jeans Go Green™ program collects denim (made from cotton) so that it can be recycled back to its original fiber state and transformed into something new. Recycling conserves natural resources, saves energy, and reduces the need for landfill space,2 while helping to reduce the approximately 16 million tons of textile waste discarded each year.3 For nearly two decades, we’ve been helping reduce waste to make a positive impact on our environment.
