Upcoming Webinar: Advances in Sustainable Dyeing

Technologies and processes used to dye cotton are continuously evolving in order to reduce the supply chain footprint. Join us Thursday, July 12 at 2 p.m. ET for a free webinar uncovering new ways to reduce water, energy, and chemicals during the cotton dyeing process.

We’ll be exploring advancements in machinery, chemicals and dyes, and discuss ways to measure the environmental impact of these products and processes.

Emily Croneberger

Emily Croneberger is a manager within the Marketing and Industry Programs for Cotton Incorporated. In this role, Emily’s efforts are focused on marketing materials and strategic planning within the Global Supply Chain Marketing division. Emily works closely with many teams within Cotton Incorporated to coordinate messages, resources, and communication across all departments. Emily is a graduate of North Carolina State University’s College of Textiles and holds a B.S. in Fashion and Textile Marketing. Emily continued her education at North Carolina State University by earning an M.S. in Textiles, focusing her research on sustainability. Emily’s background prior to joining Cotton Incorporated was in product development, specifically with hosiery and socks.

Mary Ankeny
Vice President, Product Development and Implementation

Mary Ankeny serves as Vice President of Product Development and Implementation at Cotton Incorporated, overseeing all lab operations as well as the Textile Chemistry Research Department, where the focus is on sustainable wet processing technology for cotton from preparation through finishing. Mary has held various research positions within Cotton Incorporated since joining the company in 1995. Prior to working at Cotton Incorporated, Mary was employed with Amoco Fabrics and Fibers as a research engineer in the Nonwovens Group, and before that, with Milliken & Company as a weaving engineer. Mary holds an M.S. in Textile Technology from the Institute of Textile Technology and a B.S. in Textile Engineering from Philadelphia University. Mary has been an active member of AATCC since 1995 and is currently secretary of RA80, Printing Technology, a member of the Olney Medal Award Committee, and a member of the Review Board for the AATCC Student Research Scholarships.

Buddy Garrett
Associate Director, Textile Chemistry Research
Cotton Incorporated

Buddy Garrett is the associate director of textile chemistry research. In this role, Buddy oversees the Color Services Laboratory, Garment Wet Processing Laboratory, and Digital Printing Laboratory. He also assists in preparation and dyeing related research and development along with troubleshooting dyeing related issues.

Prior to joining Cotton Incorporated in 2014, Buddy worked for a leading U.S. apparel retailer in its Innovation and Design Center as the senior manager of dyeing services, providing color standard development and new dyeing techniques. Buddy has also held dye house production management positions at both a major vertical home furnishings manufacturer and a commission dyeing and finishing company.

Buddy holds a B.S. in Textile Science from North Carolina State University and an M.B.A. from Elon University. He currently serves on the board of directors of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) representing the Chemical Applications Interest Group, as well as serving on several research committees.
